Why I Started This Journey
I didn’t start this business with a plan.I wasn’t chasing a trend or following a blueprint. I was simply following a deep pull inside me,a desire to express the many extensions of myself.
I’ve always been drawn to collaboration and to discovering incredibly skilled individuals, especially across the African continent. There’s so much untapped brilliance here, and I wanted to be part of something that brought it to light.
What began as a creative experiment on Etsy quickly grew into something much bigger. We’ve sold over a thousand flared pants and received more than a two hundred glowing reviews from customers around the world. That love and momentum inspired me to start this Shopify shop
Everything shifted the day I visited a designer friend of mine. He handed me a pair of flared pants he had made and asked me to try them on.I’d never worn flares before. But the moment I slipped into them, something clicked. I felt confident.
Then I stepped outside, and the compliments didn’t stop. People noticed. They felt the energy. When I posted a photo of myself wearing the pants on Instagram, the response was overwhelming. So I followed my gut and listed that photo on Etsy. That moment sparked everything.
The pants took off. People connected with them the same way I did. And that feeling — that rush of self-recognition, of being seen, I get to relive it through every person who wears them now.
Over time, I’ve refined the fit and feel of the pants. I’ve always been a little obsessed with how pants move, how they hug the body just right. These flares are a labor of love.
